The beautiful hat for the beautiful game…
over the past few months i have come to realise that many of my fellow students and friends are very much bored by the wonderful sport of cricket. now not only is this sport THE most entertaining game to watch and play but it also the ONLY sport i follow. anyway the point of this story stems from todays exciting acitvities.
today i purchased the most amazing hat. it is green and yellow and artisticly shaped like a sombrero. its one of those hats that you’d wear to the cricket and only the cricket. so i bought it in the hope that one day i will be able to watch my hero- Mike Hussey bat against some world famous bowlers. Well, it seemed perfectly normal in my head so out came the card and the hat was mine. My little shopping companion, Ashleigh , however decided it was the most ridiculous piece of junk that i had ever bought (including the $5 T.V i picked up from the markets). and i gotta say it hurt. you cut me real deep ash, you cut me real deep. at least she called me back and apologised and admitted it was the best hat she had ever seen in her ENTIRE life and she just said those things because she was jealous that i found such a cool hat that she would never be cool enough to wear (in a high-pitched whining voice)*
At least she didn’t discriminate against my hero…Hussey…..he’s such a legend. i don’t understand why people think he is even slightly unattractive….(have i said too much?)
oh well, the hat is still here on my desk, waiting to be used for the most beautiful game of them all……cricket!

Unbeleivable as it may seem, there have been times during our friendship when I thought you had lost your mind. Indeed, that time you and Rachel wasted all that money checking your accounts comes to mind. And, oh how could we forget the $5 peice of shit TV you bought. But this… oh, this was not one of those times. You see, I know that in your twisted little mind it seems perfectly normal to spend an hour’s wage on a fluro sombrero that will likely never see the outside of your house, and carry it all the way home from the shops… and that is what disturbs me.
In fact, I take back what I said- you have completely lost your “drachmas”- I’m so glad you don’t know where I live.
BTW, I never said that, and even if I had- it would have been a lie. Because i have photographic proof that i wore a sombrero that day with Pete. So ha.
oh god you and you cricket hahaha yes, i have learnt to agree once the word cricket is uttered from your mouth. See as you all well know, i despise sport so unlike you i am totally and utterly sport knowledge challenged. I still dont get the whole overs and stuff.
Hahaha I just remembered a funny story! (don’t roll your eyes like that- my stories are always long-winded and funny.) This girl at dancing was on the phone to her Dad and was like “pick me up please” and then all I heard was “I don’t even know what that game is! Can’t you just play one? Why do you have to play a couple?”
After she finished I asked her what she was on about.
The conversation went like this:
“Pick me up please”
“I’ll be there in a while- we’re just playing a couple of overs”
“I don’t even know what that game is! Can’t you just play one? Why do you have to play a couple?”
*beep-beep-beep* (that was the ‘I just hung up on you’ beep.
Hahaha!!! I have so many funny anecdotes… *HONK*
